 Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Thursday took a major decision in view of the rising number of coronavirus cases in the state.  Curfew will now be imposed in every city of the state from 7 pm to 5 am.  This order will come into effect from Friday.  This means that shops and hotels and restaurants will also have to close before 7 p.m.  The timing of shops and hotels and restaurants is yet to come.



 In Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Mohali, the Punjab government has again banned more than three people from sitting inside cars.  In addition, only 50 per cent of the population will be able to use public transport.  At the same time, 50 per cent non-essential shops will be opened in these five affected cities, ie 50 per cent shops will be opened in one day.  Except for weddings and cremations, gatherings of all kinds have been banned.



 The district is once again in the throes of a corona.  Jalandhar is becoming a hot spot of corona due to the number of cases coming in the district day by day.  Corona is showing its rage every day in the city.  In Jalandhar, 47 new cases were reported positive on Thursday while one person died.  The deceased has been identified as a 67-year-old resident of New Dashmesh Nagar.  After 47 patients, 150 new cases have come to light, bringing the total number of cases to 197 today.  The deceased has been identified as 67-year-old Amar Singh, a resident of New Dashmesh Nagar.  Following the new cases today, the death toll in the district has risen to 4825 and the death toll to 120.

 A total of 192 new cases of corona were reported in Jalandhar last Wednesday.  Also yesterday, 1 corona patient died in the district.  It may be mentioned here that the outbreak of corona in many cities of Punjab including Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala is not going away.  As a result, the Punjab government has imposed night curfew across the state.
